Seriously? It's just a slightly modified version of a Root Celler! The concept is in no way something new. It's been around for at least 400 years. Thats just a fact! BUT - just the same, its important and people who can have one made, should make one! Its a tried and true method of food storage - just don't expect it to freeze food. It just keeps the food cool. Although in winter time it probably comes close to freezing. Im not an expert on the subject - bur yeah I do know they have been around for a long long long time
